IT Security Management

Regulation and best practices mandate that financial institutions develop risk management and mitigation strategies to ensure the security, confidentiality and integrity of information assets. To accomplish this, regulators require financial institutions to develop an information security program, which includes administrative, technical, and physical controls, and perform a comprehensive enterprise-wide risk assessment. You also must have a board appointed information security officer to oversee the program’s development, implementation, and ongoing oversight.

With so much on our minds and plates these days, with the uncertain economic times, reorganizations, bank closings, budget and spending cuts, and in many cases implementing staffing reductions, should this really be a top priority? The answer is yes, maybe even more so now. The risks and threats aren’t going to drop off and the need to ensure security isn’t going lessen. In fact, we need to be more diligent and more focused than ever before.

This one-day session will provide a broad overview of establishing and managing an information security program. Can be condensed to a high level overview for a 1 to 2 hour venue.
